Happ VPN Client: Download for Windows, macOS, Android and iPhone — What It Is and How to Set It Up (2026)

Happ is the most searched-for client in this space, usually by a one-word query. The confusion starts right there: people download it, open it and expect a connection to appear. It will not. Happ is a client — a free program that speaks VLESS Reality, Hysteria2 and a few other protocols — and it needs connection details from a service, normally delivered as one subscription link. Below: what it is, where to get it for each system and what to do after installing.

Where to download Happ, by system

• Windows 10 and 11 — the setup-Happ.x64.exe installer from the developer's GitHub; the link points at the latest release, so it does not go stale. On Windows 7 Happ does not start — use the v2rayN bundle with a compatible core instead.
• macOS — one universal Happ.macOS.universal.dmg for Apple Silicon (M1–M4) and Intel. If macOS says the file is damaged, that is Gatekeeper, not a broken download.
• Linux — .deb, .rpm and .pkg.tar.zst for Arch.
• Android — Google Play, or the APK from GitHub when Play is unavailable. The same build runs on Android TV.
• iPhone and iPad — the real Happ (publisher Flyfrog LLC, iOS 15 or later) is listed only outside Russia. It was removed from the Russian storefront in March 2026, returned on 29.06.2026 as «Happ — Proxy Utility+», and was pulled again in August 2026. A search for «Happ» in the Russian App Store now returns third-party look-alikes — «Happ VPN Official», «Happ VPN ++», «Happ plus 2026» and the like. They are not Happ and should not be installed. Two honest routes are left: take INCY from the Russian App Store, which runs on the same core and accepts the same link, or install the real Happ from the US storefront with an Apple ID whose region is the United States — the steps are in our guide on changing the App Store region to the US (in Russian).
• Apple TV — Happ Proxy Utility for TV, a separate app.

What to do after installing

1. 1Get a subscription link from your service. With us it lives in the account: every device card has the link, a copy icon and a QR code next to it. Why it is a link and not a file — subscription links explained.
2. 2Add it in Happ as a subscription, not as a single server: the app will then pull new locations and changed parameters on its own.
3. 3Pick a location from the list that appears and tap connect. The system asks once for permission to add a VPN configuration.
4. 4Check the result on the leak test page: the address and country must change to the chosen server.

Four settings that solve most cases

Collected from support tickets: these are the switches after which things started working, ordered by how often they helped. All of them live in Happ's settings and take a minute.

• Local DNS. The tunnel is up but no site opens at all — try this first. The client resolves names through its own servers, and if your ISP does not let it reach them, the tunnel exists while names never turn into addresses.
• Fragmentation — on. Helps when some servers in the list respond and some do not: the network inspects the start of a connection and cuts it. If turning it on helped, that was the cause.
• MUX — off. It packs several connections into one, and on an unstable link that means all of them drop together.
• Preferred IP type — IPv4. If your provider gives you IPv6 too, part of the traffic may leave over it, outside the tunnel, into silence.
